Vickie Austin has been coaching people through transitions since 1997, when she founded CHOICES Worldwide, offering business coaching to entrepreneurs and executives and career coaching to mid-career professionals. Her business and executive clients have included attorneys, healthcare practitioners, accountants and financial planners, real estate executives and other professional service consultants.
Her practice is based on strategic planning and marketing principles learned over the course of 20 years. She began her career as a healthcare reporter and held progressively responsible positions in marketing communications for American Medical International (AMI), Scottsdale Memorial Health Systems, Humana, Inc., McMurry Publishing Co., Edelman Public Relations Worldwide, Crain Communications (publisher of the trade magazine Modern Healthcare) and Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital, where she was vice president of marketing.
A passionate and prolific writer, Vickie has been a free-lance contributor to the career publications of the Wall Street Journal, including "Managing Your Career" and "The National Business Employment Weekly." She has contributed to their interactive editions, CareerJournal.com, StartupJournal.com and CollegeJournal.com, and has written articles for Schmoozemonger.com, Career-Intelligence.com, The Phoenix Business Journal and local publications.
Vickie is a graduate of Arizona State University, where she received a bachelor's degree magna cum laude in English literature, and of Thunderbird School of Global Management where she participated in the first class receiving an executive masterís degree in international management. In 2008 she was chairman of the board of the Wheaton Chamber of Commerce and continues to serve on the board of directors. She is the wife of teacher and artist Bill Austin, mother of two grown children, and she's a singer, cellist, song-writer and poet in her spare time.
